Common Questions

About Community Impact

Who founded Community Impact Newspaper?+
Community Impact was founded by John and Jennifer Garrett. The Garretts built CI from a single-community publication into a statewide media network now serving over 2 million Texas residents across four major metros. CI Printing, the company's in-house print facility in Pflugerville, TX, was established in 2016 to support growing demand.
Where is Community Impact based?+
Community Impact is headquartered in Texas with operations rooted in the Austin area. Our state-of-the-art print facility is in Pflugerville, TX. We serve advertisers across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Bryan-College Station exclusively — we are a Texas-focused company.
How is Community Impact different from other local media companies?+
Three things set CI apart: guaranteed direct-mail delivery to residents (no algorithms, no ad blockers), full-circle multi-channel integration (print + email + digital from one partner), and closed-loop ROI attribution — matching your customer list to 2M+ residents in our identity graph to show exactly who saw your ad before buying.
Does Community Impact own its own printing facility?+
Yes. CI Printing in Pflugerville, TX is our in-house operation. It produces over 500,000 newspaper editions weekly and serves advertisers, municipalities, school districts, and publishers across all 50 states. Vertical integration means faster turnaround, consistent quality, and no third-party vendor handoffs.
Is Community Impact a good fit for small and local businesses?+
Yes — the majority of CI's 3,500+ active advertisers are local businesses. Because we publish by individual community (ZIP code cluster), even a single-location business can run a targeted campaign in just the neighborhoods that matter to them. There is no minimum metro-wide commitment.
